Planning Highlights

Why Families Love Disney Cruise Line

Six reasons Disney Cruise Line stands out for families, couples, and multigenerational trips.

  • 01

    A Fleet Of Ships

Each one has its own theme, personality, and size, so the right choice depends on your family and your itinerary. Stacy has sailed nearly every ship in the fleet and can help you pick the right one.

  • 02

    Itineraries To Match

From short Bahamian getaways to longer Caribbean, Alaskan, and European sailings.

  • 03

    Rotational Dining

Experience a different restaurant each night while your servers move with you. Some are themed with entertainment.

  • 04

    Private Island Days

Castaway Cay and Lookout Cay at Lighthouse Point, Disney's private island stops built for beach days and character meetups on certain sailings.

  • 05

    A Place For Every Age

Kids clubs and teen spaces alongside adult only pools, bars, and lounges, for families that enjoy time together but also apart.

  • 06

    Limited Wifi Onboard

It sounds like a downside until you realize it's one of the easiest ways to get teens off their phones and actually present for the trip.

Why Plan With Stacy

Stacy has personally sailed on the Disney Magic twice, the Wonder, the Fantasy, the Dream, the Wish twice, and the Treasure, so she can tell you firsthand how the ships actually differ, not just what’s listed on a brochure. She has cruised with her own kids at every age and has also done adult only trips without kids, so she can speak to what a Disney cruise looks like at any stage of family life. She helps you match the right ship and itinerary to your family instead of guessing based on price alone, and can walk you through what to expect with rotational dining, stateroom categories, and onboard activities before you ever step on the ship.

Working with Stacy means:

  • Free vacation planning with no added fees.
  • A personal advocate handling your reservation from start to finish.
  • Planning calls along the way so you get real recommendations built for your trip, not a cookie cutter package.
  • Help with setting up your hotel stays before and/or after your cruise, as well as transfers to and from the port, airport, and hotels.
  • Support during your trip if anything comes up.

A Disney Cruise includes most of the major parts of your vacation, including your stateroom, meals at most restaurants, snacks, soft drinks at meals and beverage stations, Broadway-style entertainment, character experiences, pools, activities, and youth clubs. Extras such as Port Adventures, alcoholic beverages, spa treatments, premium dining, and some specialty services cost additional.

There is no single price for a Disney Cruise. The cost depends on your ship, destination, sailing date, stateroom category, length of cruise, and number of guests. Stacy can compare different ships and dates to help you find the option that makes the most sense for your family and budget.

Age 3 is the turning point. That is when kids can join the Oceaneer Club at no extra cost, and the clubs are the single biggest reason families say the trip felt like a vacation for the parents too.

Under 3, kids go to It’s a Small World Nursery, which runs about $9 an hour and needs a reservation.

Tweens 11 to 14 get Edge, and teens 14 to 17 get Vibe. Both are included.

Disney opens new sailing dates roughly a year to a year and a half ahead, and prices are typically at their lowest the day those dates go on sale.

Summer Alaska, holiday weeks, and brand new ships sell out early. Booking early also means first pick of stateroom location.

On most standard sailings your deposit stays refundable until the final payment date, so there is little downside to locking in a date early. Concierge rooms, suites, and some discounted rates have stricter terms.

You can connect to the ship’s Wi-Fi network at no additional cost when using the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app. Internet access for browsing, social media, and other online activities requires the purchase of an onboard internet package.
