Joslynne Light is Co-Owner and Lead Sales Agent at Light Travels, LLC., where she specializes in organizing the kind of exotic, all-inclusive resort trips that make clients dream about vacation year-round. An expert planner and passionate traveler, Joslynne has enjoyed exploring other cities and landscapes for as long as she can remember: from childhood family vacations to road trips with friends to her wild and wonderful Las Vegas wedding. Joslynne’s favorite place to be is relaxing on a sunny island in the Caribbean. Over the years, her love for the warmth and beauty of tropical environments blossomed into a thriving career. She now spends her time helping others find and fall in love with their own dreams through her work at Light Travels. A native of the New England Coast, Joslynne was born in Putnam, Connecticut. She spent her childhood and formative years in Glocester, Rhode Island, participating in both the National Honor Society and the. Future Business Leaders of America in high school. Her first forays into the world of business were working at her family’s restaurant, a local, homestyle-cooking joint that served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. “I worked in nearly every position there over the years, from cooking and cleaning to serving and running payroll. Those early experiences taught me so much about customer service—how to understand and anticipate people’s needs.”
In 2002 Joslynne attended Bryant College on a full scholarship to study Accounting, then met and eventually married her husband Wade in 2009. Joslynne’s first job in the travel industry was at a local brick-and-mortar agency, where she got her feet wet and learned the basics before branching off as a subagent with another agency.
As she fell in love with the work, she began outlining plans to start her own travel agency. Now based in Saco, Maine, Joslynne and her husband Wade run Light Travels, LLC together, with
occasional support from their two daughters, Ryleigh and Nadalee, and their pet poodle Rosie. Joslynne works with clients to design and book a wide range of tropical escapes, including elaborate destination weddings, exotic group trips, elegant honeymoons, easy, luxurious cruises, lush coastal adventures, and fun, family beach vacations in both Mexico and the Caribbean. She’s a dedicated and thorough agent who tends to go above and beyond, putting in extra hours to compare pricing, options, and opportunities that save clients time and money. She excels in her work because she genuinely loves the places, activities, and luxuries she books for her clients. “I’m a comparison shopper, and I tend to go overboard with my research. I also like to have first-hand knowledge of what I’m selling. I often visit locations and vet the amenities before ever suggesting them to my clients. That extra step makes a big difference.” Joslynne’s skills have been recognized by a wide spectrum of travel organizations: She was named the Vacation Agent of the Year by GOGO in 2015, and she’s currently a Diamond Pinnacle Level travel agent (recognized in the top fifteen of over four thousand agents). She’s a GIVC agent with Karisma Resorts and a Master Agent with AM resorts. Joslynne also organizes the philanthropic side of Light Travels, donating gift certificates and merchandise to local charity fundraisers, Wounded Warriors, and the Make A Wish Foundation. When she’s not devising the perfect vacation for one of her many loyal clients, you’ll find Joslynne planning her next escape from the New England cold, scouring maps, searching online databases, and comparing hotel criteria for the ideal combination of warm sun, sand, and sea.
Wade Light is a driven, competitive, and hardworking army vet with a background in business and real estate investment. A loving husband and father of two girls, he’s always working to improve the status quo—for himself, his family, and his career. He’s got a knack for developing systems and processes that streamline businesses, finding the most effective, efficient way forward. He’s the kind of person who looks for opportunities and pursues them wholeheartedly, willing to research the details and find the resources needed to achieve his goals. As the Owner and Office Manager of Light Travels LLC, Wade extends that same ambition and work ethic to his clients, going above and beyond to find deals, lower pricing, and make their travel dreams into reality.
Wade was born in Lewiston, Maine, where he grew up exploring the great outdoors and enjoying the peace and quiet of nature. His uncle David inspired him at a young age to look beyond his family’s humble circumstances and see that he was in control of his own future. In high school Wade worked for a local moving company whose owner mentored him in business and taught him respect for the value of hard work. After graduation, Wade enlisted in the army and remained on active duty, National Guard, or Individual Ready Reserve for the next fifteen years. He left active duty after two combat tours in Afghanistan and Iraq. “When I was deployed in combat infantry, there was constant pressure to get the job done and keep my squad safe. I still hold myself to the same high standards, staying calm under pressure but treating my work with life-or-death importance. I do whatever it takes to get the job done right.” In addition to instilling habits of integrity and dedication to duty, Wade’s time in the military taught him to prioritize time-sensitive tasks and communicate clearly—skills which help him excel in his current work. In 2008 Wade attended Allied Business School, where he learned the ropes of real estate investment, earning Residential Appraisal & Residential Inspection certificates. Next, he earned an associates degree in Applied Science from the New England Institute of Technology in 2013, where he honed his mathematical and analytical skills. Later that year he founded Wade Light Investments LLC and began buying, holding, and renovating rental properties throughout Connecticut, gaining a wealth of hands-on knowledge about negotiation tactics and the fine print involved in complex paperwork transactions. In 2014, Wade founded Light Travels LLC with his wife, Joslynne, inspired by her desire to explore the world and her passion for her work as a stay-at-home travel agent and mother. “She was so fulfilled by what she was doing. At first I helped out behind-the-scenes. As the company grew, I became more and more involved in the day-to-day activity and fell in love with the work as well: We make people incredibly happy.” Wade brings the spirit of healthy competition to the business, always working to improve offerings and customer experience. Part of the company’s steadily growing success comes from the Lights’ confidence in their own work: They guarantee to beat any price found online or through another travel agency, even at their own expense.
Wade continues to seek every opportunity to grow, learn, and develop new businesses, acquiring tactics, connections, and insider knowledge that directly and indirectly benefit his clients at Light Travels LLC.
In 2016, he attended an Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans at LSU’s E.J. Ourso College of Business, and took elective business classes at Curry College in Milton Massachusetts. From 2016-2020, he owned and operated Nadryl Enterprises LLC, a federal contracting and procurement company, and from 2016-2018 he was part-owner of Charity Realty International LLC. As a partner in real estate sales at Charity Realty International, Wade donated 25% of his commission to the charity of his client’s choice after each sale—a generosity that earned him recognition from U.S. Senator Christopher S. Murphy for the creative way he found to give back to the community.
An accomplished military veteran whose energetic, encouraging nature makes him a valuable leader,
Adam Nielsen is an expert at managing travel to diverse destinations around the world. Adam has been a Travel Agent at Light Travels LLC since January of 2020, handling administrative tracking details and client travel data under company co-founder Joslynne Light. He’s an effective communicator and a considerate, meticulous planner, well-versed in interacting with a wide range of people from all backgrounds. With years of military experience planning and overseeing travel for large groups of soldiers en route to training and deployment, he’s developed a detail-oriented approach to tracking travel data for his troops as well as his clients. He believes in getting his hands dirty, diving into his work with genuine passion and a clear vision for how future plans might unfold.
Born in Connecticut, Adam grew up in Searsport, Maine on a six-acre ranch with five other siblings. He was an organized, active child, always looking for new ways to expend his wealth of energy. In high school, Adam worked as a prep cook and dishwasher before joining the army upon graduation. “Joining the military was common in my family: two of my brothers, as well as my dad, served before me.” In his first active duty position with the 10th Mountain Division in Fort Drum, NY, he served as an infantryman and was deployed to Afghanistan from 2005-2007. After active duty, Adam worked as an associate in the shoe department at a Kohl’s department store, then was hired into the Active Guard Reserve in 2008, where he handled administrative requirements such as pay for upwards of 150 soldiers. Adam then deployed a second time to Afghanistan from 2009-2010 as the senior level Sergeant in charge of an infantry mortar section. In 2012, Adam enrolled in Husson University in Bangor, ME, where he graduated with honors and a B.S. in Health Science. He was promoted into the Maine Army National Guard Training program next, where he resourced and assisted with training events across the country from 2011-2015. “Service taught me how to be a leader. It instilled values like loyalty, integrity, self-
discipline, and dedication to duty. I started out in human resources, primarily supporting other soldiers by managing their pay and documents, and evolved from the lowest rank up to a more senior position every two to three years.” As a Maine Army National Guard Readiness NCO, Adam supervised a full-time staff of soldiers, managing data and scheduling soldier appointments from 2015-2018, he then took a position as Assistant Operations NCO from 2018-2020, where he facilitated training, applications, and schedules for a Battalion of approximately 400 people. During that time, he also moved to a more senior Brigade position, managing resources, training, security, ammunition, and environmental programs, including a fleet of vehicles, for a Brigade of approximately 1000 people. In 2021, with the rank of Master Sergeant, Adam took a senior level position as Operations NCO, where he manages training and resources for five line units, supervising those in his previous positions with training, allocation, and administrative responsibilities. Outside of work and service, Adam is a loving husband and devoted father who puts his family above all else. Trained in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, he has fought competitively in amateur mixed martial arts. On most weekends, he enjoys fishing and duck hunting. One of Adam’s favorite places to travel is Montenegro, because of its quaint, small-town feel, rich European scenery, and deep sense of history. He also loves walking the beautiful beaches and swimming the crystal clear waters of Mexico.
An analytical thinker with a heart for serving others, Brittany Parker is a talented agent on a mission to help clients find joy through travel. She’s a driven, proactive leader who tackles challenges with a
positive attitude, finding inspiration in the places and people around her. Brittany loves exploring the outdoors, celebrating birthdays (and every day) with family, volunteering with local charities, gardening, and, of course, travelling. Happily married and a proud mother of three, she approaches her work with knowledge and experience gained through years of management. “I take great pride in every aspect of my work. I do everything to the best of my ability, and make sure it’s done the right way. It’s just who I am.”
Brittany was born and raised in Pennsylvania, where intense work ethic and ambition were instilled in her at a young age. In 2003 she earned her associate’s degree in nursing from Lock Haven University in Clearfield, PA, then embarked on her nursing career, accepting a position in the surgical unit at a local hospital. In 2005 she relocated to Maine and decided, along with the move, to change her career path. Interested in the field of logistics and supply chains, Brittany was hired at the local Walmart Distribution Center as a dry grocery receiver. She excelled in the role and soon began to cross train in various management positions, quickly learning the ins and outs of the business through hands-on experience. She enjoyed the fast-paced, daily work, and was promoted to supervisor in 2007, then area manager in 2008—positions which entailed setting up shifts, ensuring safety of the work environment, overseeing operations, and communicating changes in policy or procedure to employees. From 2008-2015, Brittany worked as Dry Receiving Manager, Dry Shipping Manager, Dry RSR Manager, Freezer Dairy Deli Shipping Manager, and Freezer Dairy Deli Receiving Manager, roles which strengthened her leadership skills and provided ample opportunities to train, manage, motivate, and inspire others. “I’ve always been good at leading, I think because I’m an effective, clear communicator. I like working with people, making a positive impact in the lives of others.” From 2015 to 2021 Brittany worked as the Dry Operations Manager and Inbound Operations Manager, leading other area managers, overseeing operations for over one hundred associates, ensuring the completion of individual daily workloads, communicating important policy and procedural changes, and analyzing data to make results-driven decisions for the departments she manages. In over sixteen years at the Walmart Distribution Center, fourteen of which were spent in supervisory positions, Brittany earned a reputation for improving performance and morale in her departments, receiving recognition as Manager of the Quarter four times as well as Manager of the Year.
At Light Travels LLC, Brittany takes pride in delivering the absolute best outcome for each client. She’s a transparent, effective communicator, keeping people informed every step of the way, and she takes the time to listen and understand her clients’ unique goals. “Everyone has different wants and needs when they travel. My job is to listen and understand those details, and then create the best possible combination of solutions for each individual.” Informed by her extensive background in logistics, she’s an expert planner and problem-solver who ensures clients a safe, smooth, and successful trip to their dream destination. In her down time, Brittany is a casual traveler, always on the lookout for peaceful locales to unwind from
the fast pace of work life. She loves the Outer Banks in North Carolina, the Caribbean islands, and anywhere warm, friendly, and relaxing. When she’s not working or traveling, she gives her time to a wide range of organizations and charities, including hosting fundraisers for the A-T Children’s Project, volunteering at The Dempsey Center, Children’s Miracle Network, Lewiston Baseball & Softball, Androscoggin Land Trust, and helping out at her children’s school events and class trips.
Here at Light Travels, (Ryleigh Light) and (Nadalee Light) are up and coming stars. They gather content while on trips with their parents and edit all videos for our Light Travels You-Tube page and also help with various social media platforms. When they are not traveling they are usually found playing with our team mascot (Rosie).
