What Is Inside The Resort
Three Theme Parks, A Water Park, And A Nightlife District.
There is truly something for everyone. But, Universal Orlando’s website can be genuinely confusing to navigate, from figuring out which Express Pass you actually need to knowing when annual passes make sense over single tickets. Stacy simplifies all of it, and has visited Universal Orlando during every season, including multiple Halloween Horror Nights and holiday events, so the recommendations come from firsthand experience, not a brochure.
- Universal Studios Florida Theme Park
- Islands of Adventure Theme Park
- Epic Universe Theme Park
- Volcano Bay Water Park
- CityWalk Dining & Nightlife
- Halloween Horror Nights Fall Event

Does it cost more to book Universal Orlando through a travel advisor?
No. You pay the same price you would pay booking directly with Universal, and Stacy’s planning service is free.
What you get on top of that is a personalized assistant who handles the booking site for you, compares ticket, Express Pass, and hotel options for your dates, and looks for better pricing instead of taking whatever the website shows first.
How many theme parks are at Universal Orlando Resort?
Universal Orlando has three theme parks: Universal Studios Florida, Universal Islands of Adventure, and Universal Epic Universe. The resort also includes Universal Volcano Bay water park and Universal CityWalk, a dining and nightlife district outside the park gates.
Epic Universe is the newest park. It opened in 2025 with SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, How to Train Your Dragon Isle of Berk, and The Wizarding World of Harry Potter Ministry of Magic.
Do we need a Universal Express Pass?
Not always. Universal Express Pass is sold separately from park tickets and can save significant time in line, but the price changes by date, season, and park. On a slower week you may not need it. During spring break, summer, and holidays, it can be the difference between riding a few headliners and riding most of them.
Guests at Universal’s Premier hotels (Hard Rock Hotel, Loews Portofino Bay Hotel, and Loews Royal Pacific Resort) get Universal Express Unlimited ride access at Universal Studios Florida and Islands of Adventure, which can change the math. Stacy will tell you which Express Pass level fits your trip, or whether to skip it.
How many days do we need at Universal Orlando?
Plan at least one day per theme park, so three days covers Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and Epic Universe. Add a fourth day for Volcano Bay or a repeat visit to the park your group loved most.
If you are adding Halloween Horror Nights or want a slower pace with younger kids, a fifth day helps. Stacy will map out which day goes where.
Is a Universal Orlando annual pass worth it?
It depends on how often you plan to go. Annual pass tiers can be worth it for repeat visitors or longer stays, and each tier comes with different blockout dates and benefits. For a single week long trip, a multi day ticket is often the better buy.
Stacy will compare a pass against single tickets for your actual travel plans, so you know which one pays off.
Is Halloween Horror Nights included with park tickets?
No. Halloween Horror Nights is a separately ticketed nighttime event held on select nights each fall at Universal Studios Florida, with its own haunted houses, scare zones, and shows. Universal does not recommend the event for children under 13.
Stacy has been to multiple Halloween Horror Nights and can help you pick the right nights, plan your house order around crowd flow, and decide whether a Halloween Horror Nights Express Pass is worth adding.
Can we combine Universal Orlando with a Walt Disney World vacation?
Yes, and many families do. Both resorts are in the Orlando area, so one trip can include park days at each. Stacy plans both sides, so your tickets, hotels, and park days line up instead of overlapping.
Planning the Disney side too? See our Walt Disney World travel agent page, or read how to score the best Disney World and Universal Studios package deals.
Should we stay at a Universal Orlando hotel or off property?
Universal Orlando hotel guests get perks like Early Park Admission to select attractions and easy access to the parks and CityWalk, and some hotels include Universal Express Unlimited.
Off property hotels can offer more space or a lower price. Stacy can compare both options for your dates and help you choose what works best for your group.
